Where No Man Has gone before.
You were happily going about your own business.
That's the last thing you remember before you were being enveloped in a swirling, glowing blanket of particles and you felt yourself being pulled away, fast, zipping along physical space at the speed of light.
When you come to, you're standing in a bright, circular room. There's people in uniform here watching you, looking very, very confused.
A man stands in front of everyone else, watching in curiosity. He's got an air of authority, relatively young, but not hostile. Beside him are two men in blue uniform, and the seem to have been mid-bicker. One, the slimmer, dark one with.. Pointed ears? Has an eyebrow raised in your direction, the other looks like he might explode at any second.
"Well, you certainly aren't the Tenaxi Diplomat we we're expecting." The one in the middle says, smiling, but bemused.
What do you do?

"Uh, no. I'm no diplomat." He glances around the room, taking in everything he's seeing. "What system are you guys from, and, uh, who are you following?" That's important right now. "For that matter, what system are we in?"

Jim only huffs, approaching after Bones to come and talk to Matt properly.
"As for where we're from, thanks for that ace introduction, Bones," Jim rolls his eyes and gets a bird for his effort, "Terran prime, Sol system. Currently in Tenaxi Prime, M-507-Beta system, following. Uh, no one? My pilots are navigating at the moment, and there's no one to follow c'ept ourselves. What I am interested in, though, is how you ended up so far out from the Starbase with out any knowledge of it. We're far beyond the Federation Frontier." Kirk is smiling, but there's still a bit of tightness around the eyes. He didn't become a captain by bring overly trusting, after all.

Blinking, he looks over at the man in gold, confused as heck. "Terran? Sol? So... you're from Earth? We don't have this shiny of technology for our ships. Just the Galra and the Alteans..." A pause. "But I have a feeling I'm not in Kansas anymore. Or, well, metaphorically. I don't know if I've ever been to Kansas. Anyway, I'm Matt Holt, technically Second Lieutenant and science officer, Galaxy Garrison. Lately, I'm also Rebel Communications, but I don't think the species we're rebelling against is even here...." Wherever here really is.

"Kid, you look like you've come form a damned warzone," he grouches with a surprising amount of tenderness. The tricorder finishes the scan with a final 'Blip!' and Matt's almost free to do what he wants. Almost.
"Welcome aboard the Enterprise, Mr. Holt. My name's Jim Kirk, I'm the Captain of this ship, and you've already met Dr. McCoy. From the confused sounds I'm hearing from over there by the engineers section, we won't be able to get you home anytime soon." There's a harried shout of 'sorry!' from the crew members in the red shirt as someone with a Scottish brogue yells commands, trying to figure out what the hell went wrong.
"Walk with me," Kirk ticks his head out to the side door. "I think Kansas might have changed a bit."

However, he turns his attention to the Captain in front of him and salutes, almost instinctively. "Yes, sir. I'm... admittedly very curious to see some of your technology and communications." And science advances, if that scanner is anything to go by.
He steps off of the platform, ready to follow Kirk wherever he's going.

"Alright, well, Welcome to the USS Enterprise, even if it's a bit of a detour," He laughs, going over to the replicator to punch in some drinks.
"I can get you some clothes at least, and something to eat and drink, but I'm interested to hear about what kind of place you come from. Uh, Tea? Coffee?"
no subject
"Thanks for the welcome, sir. I come from what must be another universe to this one. We're in the middle of a galactic war against an imperialistic species called the Galra. Their defining feature is that they're warlike... and purple." Matt makes a face. "They tend to blaze through everything and salt the land, and it's been thousands of years since anyone stood up to them."
Clearly, Matt has no love for these guys.

"Well it's still Synth coffee, but I've programmed it to be as close to the real thing as possible. Plus, if I replicate the beans, I found out that you can do everything else the old fashioned way and it comes out pretty much perfect," he explains as he punches a code into the replicator in front of him. A minute or so, a small beep can be heard and the replicator flaps open to reveal a small bag of coffee grounds and a large thermos of hot water that Jim gets to mixing immediately.
"Christ, yeah, a different universe for sure. We have Klingons and Romulans, both have their respective territory and empires and at the moment all three of us, the Federation included, are at a standstill. As long as no one crosses into the Neutral zones, we're not going to go to war any time soon."
Jim sets the coffee in front of Matt in a large mug, piping hot and just for him. Jim's coffee is vastly sweeter, but still black.
"And you say they've gone unchecked for literal millennia? Just... how? I didn't think any iteration of Earth would put up with that."

A pause and he takes a breath, shaking his head. "We barely had space travel. That's why it happened. My dad, my best friend, and I were on a mission to Kerberos, Pluto's moon, and that was the furthest humans had gone. So when the Galra came and captured the three of us, we had no idea anyone was even out there. That sure was fun."
And by fun, he means it sucked. A lot.
"So, we're probably pretty darn far in your past, even with the alternate universe."
